Decals for German turret tactical numbers of the Second World War, part 10 in 1:35 scale from the Hungarian manufacturer HAD models. A waterslide sheet for models of armored equipment.
Responsibility details are not available.
The tenth sheet in the series in which the Hungarian manufacturer HAD models works through German turret tactical numbers of the Second World War in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit but a decal sheet in its own right, meant to finish a model of an armored vehicle that is already built and painted. The decals are waterslide, so they are soaked before being applied.
A number on the turret was a practical marking by which the individual vehicles in a unit were told apart in the field. The look of the numbers was not uniform: it differed in shape, in the weight of the stroke, in the color of the fill and the edging and in size, according to the unit and the period of service. Dividing the series into several parts therefore gives a modeler the chance to reach for exactly the style that matches the reference.
The base under the decal has to be smooth and glossy, otherwise silvering threatens, that is a visible matte edge to the carrier film. Cut the design out closely, soak it in lukewarm water and once it has released from the paper slide it into place, nudging it with a brush if need be. On areas with rivets and edges use a decal softener, which softens the film and lets it follow the relief. Once dry, spray a matte or semi-matte varnish and only then work with washes and pigments. The number then settles into the overall weathering and does not look like a piece of paper stuck on.
This is a decal sheet, not a kit. The model, paints and varnish are not included in the package.
