Dogs in service in the US Marine Corps 1:35 is a plastic figure set from Master Box with figures of handlers and service dogs of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic set in 1:35 scale combines three figures of US Marine Corps dog handlers with three service dogs. The set captures the less common subject of war dogs in the Pacific in the Second World War and makes a rewarding addition to themed dioramas as well as a display scene of its own.
In the Pacific the US Marine Corps used trained service dogs for patrolling, guard duty and finding a hidden enemy. The dogs went with the Marines right into the field and became a valued part of the units. The motif of a handler with his dog gives a diorama an unusual and human dimension.
Clean up the figures and the dogs and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. We recommend a primer and an airbrush; keep the handlers' uniforms in green-khaki and the gear in brown. The coats of the dogs call for patient work with a brush: layering of the shades and a dry brush will give the fur depth and a natural look.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
