Fenders for the Ferdinand and Elefant self-propelled guns and the VK-4501 tank in 1:35 scale from Aber. A photo-etched metal detail set, not a model of its own.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched detail set from the Polish manufacturer Aber for a faithful rendering of the fenders of the Ferdinand and Elefant heavy self-propelled guns and the related VK-4501 heavy tank in 1:35 scale. The set replaces the thick-walled plastic fenders with thin metal parts.
The Ferdinand and its later reworked version the Elefant were heavy self-propelled anti-tank guns of the Second World War with an 88 mm gun and massive frontal armor, built on a chassis derived from the VK-4501 (P) project. These vehicles first appeared in strength in the fighting at Kursk. The fenders were among the features that often suffered in the field.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife, make the bends on a photo-etch bending tool and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. The fenders can be bent, torn or partly removed for a realistic look. After airbrushing, pick out rust, scratches and caked mud with washes and pigments.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
