This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale captures the German project for the Flakpanther anti-aircraft tank with the 8.8 cm Flak 41 gun on the Panther chassis. The extensive set from Trumpeter contains photo-etched parts and a richly broken-down lower hull with individual track links. It is a kit with a large number of parts meant for more advanced modelers.
The Flakpanther was among the German projects for anti-aircraft vehicles at the end of the Second World War that were to combine the armor and mobility of the Panther tank with a powerful anti-aircraft gun. The 8.8 cm Flak 41 gun was one of the most effective German anti-aircraft weapons of its day. The concept of a heavy mobile flak vehicle stayed largely at the design and prototype stage.
Work carefully when building the running gear, the mounting and the mechanism of the gun. Finish the internal parts before closing the hull up, spray a primer and apply the main shade with an airbrush. You create weathering with washes and dust pigments, and bring out the gun and the mounting with dry-brushing.
