A turned 75 mm barrel for the German Sd.Kfz.234/4 armored car in 1:35 scale from Aber. A metal replacement for the plastic anti-tank gun barrel, with a hollow muzzle.
Responsibility details are not available.
A turned metal barrel in 1:35 scale from the Polish maker Aber for a model of the German Sd.Kfz.234/4 heavy armored car. It matches the 75 mm anti-tank gun that the vehicle carried in an open superstructure. This is a detail accessory, not a model of the vehicle. Metal has no parting line, stays straight and has a hollow muzzle, so a long barrel looks more faithful than the plastic part.
The Sd.Kfz.234 was a family of German eight-wheeled armored cars built for long-range reconnaissance. The 234/4 version appeared at the end of the war and was the most heavily armed variant, with a 75 mm anti-tank gun set into an open superstructure together with part of its original shield. The vehicle thus gained firepower comparable to a tank destroyer, but at the cost of very thin protection for the crew and a high silhouette.
Cut off the plastic barrel, open the hole out to the diameter of the metal pin and deburr the surfaces. Because the superstructure is open, both the barrel and its mounting will be clearly visible, so check the axis and the elevation setting dry. Degrease the metal, glue it with cyanoacrylate glue and use a primer for metal surfaces. Late German vehicles suit a three-color camouflage and clear weathering, and a dark wash works well at the joint between the barrel and the shield.
This is a detail set, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
