An injection-molded plastic kit model of the German project tank E-75 Standardpanzer in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The E-75 was the heavy member of the Entwicklung development series and was to replace the heavy tanks of the day with a single design sharing as many parts as possible with the lighter E-50. The vehicle remained a paper project; the model captures its shape according to the surviving drawings. Compared with the E-50 it looks more robust, with closer-spaced running gear and thicker armor.
The Entwicklung series was meant, toward the end of the Second World War, to unify German tracked equipment into standardized classes with shared parts. The E-75 represented the heavy class, with an estimated weight of around seventy to eighty tons, and was to replace the existing heavy tanks. It differed from the E-50 above all in its thicker armor, greater weight and more closely spaced running gear with more wheels per side, so that it could take the greater load; sharing components with the E-50 was meanwhile supposed to simplify production. Given the wartime situation the project was never carried out.
Finish and paint the running gear with its closely spaced wheels before the side skirts cover it. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement and sand the joints. Apply an undercoat (primer) before painting. The large surfaces are ideal for late German camouflage schemes applied with an airbrush; on a project vehicle the scheme is always to some extent the builder's own. Depth comes from final washes and pigments imitating dust and mud.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
