British helmet MK1 1:48 is a set of resin (3D-printed) British helmets for figures and dioramas. An accessory, not a standalone model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin accessory made by 3D printing representing the British Mk.I steel helmet in 1:48 scale. The set is meant for fitting to figures and for bringing dioramas to life, from the Czech maker Firma49. It is not a model of equipment but a detail accessory.
The British Mk.I helmet, known as the Brodie, was designed in 1915. Its shallow round bowl with a wide soup-bowl brim was meant to protect the head and shoulders from shell fragments. It was worn in both world wars and became one of the most iconic military helmets. The American M1917 variant was derived directly from it.
Separate the helmets from the print supports; before trimming, it is worth dipping the resin briefly in hot water so that it softens. They are bonded with cyanoacrylate glue. Wash the parts before painting and apply a primer. A flat khaki to olive color suits a British helmet, and the surface can be roughened for the period cork finish.
The accessory is supplied as unpainted resin parts. Paints, glue and figures are not included in the package.
