The Sd.Kfz.6 was a five-ton half-track tractor of the Wehrmacht that combined a steered front axle with tracked running gear at the rear. In the artillery role it served above all to tow the 10.5 cm leFH 18 howitzer and to carry its crew and ammunition. The half-track layout gave the vehicle good cross-country performance while keeping the steering simple. Sd.Kfz.6 tractors were among the mainstays of German artillery and engineer logistics and were built in several forms according to the task.
The most demanding part is the tracked running gear with its individual links - assemble and paint it before the fenders and the superstructure cover it. Glue the plastic with a liquid cement and the photo-etch with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer and spray with an airbrush; the large surfaces of the hull come to life with a wash in the seams, a dry brush along the edges and dust and mud pigments on the running gear. Paint the front wheels and any tires separately. The roomy cargo bed offers space for a load, crates and figures that turn the model into a living scene.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
