A set of wheels with flattened tires for the German TPz 1 Fuchs armored personnel carrier in the chemical reconnaissance version, 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The TPz 1 Fuchs is a German six-wheeled armored personnel carrier that has stayed in Bundeswehr service since the 1970s. The version for radiological and chemical reconnaissance is its best-known guise: in it the vehicle carries measuring apparatus, sampling equipment and a marking system, so it is sent in first wherever contamination is expected. The version has its own chassis with off-road tires, on which you can see how heavy the vehicle is.
These are replacement wheels with tires made with flattening where they meet the road, that is the way they look under the weight of the vehicle. It is version number two, with Continental tires of the HCS type. Check the number of pieces in the set, the material, the way the parts are made and which kit the wheels are cut for in the manufacturer's instructions.
The flattened area has to point to the ground and sit on the surface across its full width, otherwise the model looks as if it were sinking in. Try the wheels dry first, line them up in one plane and only then glue them. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. It pays to bring out the tread with a dry brush and to leave the bottom of the tire dustier than the sidewalls.
For modelers of modern German subjects who want to give a model a sense of weight. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
