This is a small modeling accessory in 1:35 scale that represents a mechanical jack of the smallest capacity class from the equipment of German vehicles. The accessory is neither a kit of a vehicle nor a finished model — it is a separate detail with which you replace a simplified part from the box or fill out a vehicle whose basic set has no jack.
On German vehicles jacks belonged to a fixed set of tools carried on the fenders, on the hull or on the engine deck, where straps and clamps held them. The capacity followed from the weight of the vehicle: lighter types were carried on truck and half-track chassis and on lighter armored vehicles, while heavy long jacks went with the heaviest vehicles. A jack with a capacity of one ton is therefore a detail that suits lighter chassis rather than heavy tracked vehicles.
The part is very small, so work with tweezers and over a surface from which a piece that jumps away can be found. Cut the remains of the casting gates off with a saw or a sharp scalpel and sand the cut with fine abrasive paper; with a resin casting, wash the part before gluing in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap so that it is rid of the mold release agent. Glue with superglue using a short application needle, so that the glue does not run over the surrounding area. Painting is easier if you spray the part on a wire before fitting it: a base of dark steel, with the chamfered edges carefully polished with a graphite pencil.
