A plastic kit of the sports coupe in 1:24 scale. The subject is the 3.0GT version from the end of the 1980s, the time when the model first became a line of its own.
The coupe with the internal code A70 was built from 1986 and marked a step toward a more powerful and technically more advanced approach. The 3.0GT grade was built around a 3.0-liter inline six with a turbocharger, and the classic layout was completed by rear-wheel drive. The pop-up headlights, the wedge silhouette and the wide fenders remained its hallmarks. On the home market the car dropped the older name derived from the smaller coupe and began to be sold on its own, which made it the flagship of the sporting range of the brand.
The wedge-shaped body invites bold shades; white, red and a dark metallic all match the range of the period. The frame of the pop-up headlights deserves special attention, because it is what decides how the model looks from the front. The headlight lenses and the tail lights stand out if you leave their surface clear and free of fingerprints, so paint them separately and fit them last.
