Photo-etched engine compartment grilles for the German project tanks Standardpanzer E-75 and E-50 in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Aber. Pierced metal parts replace the solid plastic covers of the cooling openings.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched detail set in 1:35 scale from the Polish manufacturer Aber for models of the German project tanks Standardpanzer E-75 and E-50. It holds the grilles of the covers of the engine compartment cooling vents. This is not a kit of a vehicle but an accessory with which the plastic parts are replaced.
The Entwicklung series was to replace the fragmented German production of armored vehicles with a few standardized types sharing common components. The E-50 was to follow on from the medium and heavy tanks of the Panther category, and the heavier E-75 from the King Tiger. Neither of them reached the prototype stage, so they are built from project documentation as so-called paper panzers.
Sand the solid plastic covers back to a frame and glue the photo-etched part in with cyanoacrylate glue at small points. Make the bends in a bending tool, degrease the metal before painting and give it a base coat for metals. Because the real subject has no documented original finishes, you have a free hand in choosing both camouflage and weathering. A dark surface under the grille emphasizes the depth of the piercing.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
