A resin detail accessory from the manufacturer ELEFANT. According to the name there are two castings of the ball mount in the shorter rendering in the package, intended for the Panther Ausf. A tank and for the early renderings of the Jagdpanther tank destroyer. The accessory is fitted into the front of the hull of a kit in 1:35 scale that you already own; in itself it is not a model and without a basic kit you will not use it.
The Kugelblende is a cast spherical part in the frontal armor in which the hull machine gun moves. Vehicles on the Panther chassis used it in several renderings that differed in the height and the outline of the collar. On early examples of the Jagdpanther tank destroyer the mount tends to be shorter than on later machines, which is one of the easily recognizable features when identifying a particular production batch on period photographs.
The choice of glue is decisive. Thin cyanoacrylate glue wicks into the joint and bonds the part instantly, but allows no correction; a thick gel gives tens of seconds to true the position up, though it sets more slowly. The proven approach is to true the part up with the gel and only then strengthen the joint with a drop of thin glue around the edge. An accelerator speeds up setting but leaves a dull white film, so apply it with a small brush only to hidden surfaces. The white haze that forms around a joint as the glue evaporates can be removed with fine abrasive before the primer is sprayed.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted; it is not a complete vehicle model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
