A set of figures in 1:35 scale on the theme of the last battles for Berlin in 1945. Intended to bring a vehicle model or a diorama to life.
Responsibility details are not available.
Berlin in the spring of 1945 was a battlefield where the infantry moved among the ruins of buildings and vehicles squeezed through streets buried in rubble. A scene from a setting like that lives through its people: without figures even a carefully built model comes across as an exhibit, whereas two or three figures in the right positions turn it into a moment.
The set is in 1:35 scale, that is, the same size as the usual kits of tanks and armored vehicles and the accessories for dioramas. The figures can be used as the cast of a whole scene or one at a time beside individual models, where they serve mainly as a scale reference for the viewer. Think the placing through before you glue the model up for good, because some positions call for an open hatch or a reworked seat.
Faces and hands are painted before the clothing, as repainting is easier that way. Flesh tones work best built up from a darker base toward lighter coats, with shadow left in the eye sockets and under the chin. Lay the paint on in thin coats so that the fine relief of the folds and straps stays readable. Even the surface out with a flat varnish at the end, so that the sheen of the different paints does not clash.
Several sets in the range carry the same name with different contents, so check which particular one you are ordering. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
