This injection-molded plastic kit captures the Canadian main battle tank Leopard C2 MEXAS in 1:35 scale. The package holds parts in hard plastic, workable individual track links, separate road wheels, photo-etched parts and decals. The model allows the vehicle to be built with its characteristic applique composite protection.
The Leopard C2 is the Canadian modernization of the Leopard C1 tank, which grew out of the German Leopard 1. The abbreviation MEXAS stands for Modular Expandable Armor System. Vehicles with this applique armor were committed by the Canadian army in Afghanistan, among other places, where the modular protection raised resilience against anti-tank rockets and improvised devices.
Assemble the running gear and fine-tune the seating of the applique armor panels. Put the individual track links together section by section and let them hang naturally. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement, use a base coat (primer) and spray with an airbrush. You will bring out the relief with washes and pigments for dust and mud effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
