Photo-etched metal parts in 1:35 scale for detailing the M1134 ATGM anti-tank vehicle of the Stryker family.
Responsibility details are not available.
The M1134 ATGM belongs to the family of eight-wheeled Stryker armored vehicles of the US Army, where it fills the anti-tank role. It carries the launcher for TOW guided missiles, which is raised above the hull before firing and stays folded while driving. Against tracked fighting vehicles the silhouette of the Stryker looks tall and angular, so every overly thick sheet-metal part stands out on a model.
The set contains photo-etched metal parts in 1:35 scale intended for detailing that vehicle. The parts list, their order and their exact positions on the model are described in the manufacturer's instructions supplied with the set. Photo-etch can stand in for shapes that cannot be made thin enough in injection-molded plastic, which is why it is used mainly on covers, brackets and flat stiffeners.
Work on a hard surface and separate the parts with a sharp blade rather than with pliers; then level the remaining tabs with a file. Make the bends over the edge of a ruler or in a photo-etch bender in one calm pull, because repeated bending fatigues the material. They are glued with a minute amount of cyanoacrylate glue. Wash, degrease and prime the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth metal.
The set suits modelers with some experience of fine work who want to take a kit beyond the level of the parts in the box. The model of the vehicle, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
