Ammo belts 12.7 mm 1:48 is a resin detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard that faithfully replaces molded ammunition belts on models of aircraft armed with 12.7 mm (.50 cal) machine guns.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a resin detail set, not a standalone model. It contains cast belts of 12.7 mm rounds intended for the superdetailing of aircraft models in 1:48 scale that have exposed ammunition bays or open gun bays. The fine casting captures the individual rounds and the links of the belt far more convincingly than the plastic parts from the base kit.
The belts suit above all American and Allied aircraft of the Second World War as well as later types that used 12.7 mm Browning machine guns. They come into their own in open wing bays, on fuselage guns and in diorama scenes where ammunition is being replenished.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap so that the mold release agent residue is removed. Cut the casting blocks off carefully, sand the surfaces down with respiratory protection and bond the individual pieces with super glue (cyanoacrylate). You will get the brass sheen of the cartridge cases with a metallic paint, and fine-tune the weathering with a dark wash into the recesses.
This is an accessory that is supplied unpainted and unassembled. The base model, the glue, the paints and any other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
