A self-adhesive masking set for painting the wheels of the M8 Greyhound and M20 armored cars in 1:35 scale, cut for the kit from Tamiya. The mask covers the tire, the hub is oversprayed in the vehicle color and the boundary stays circular. It is neither a kit nor a replacement part.
A six-wheeled armored car is the typical case where it pays to stop working wheel by wheel and switch to a series. First prepare all the wheels at once: clean up the parting seams, remove the remains of the gates and wash the surface if need be. Then spike them on skewers or toothpicks stuck into a piece of polystyrene, so that they stand freely side by side and can be turned without being touched with your fingers. Spray the base shade of the rubber on all the wheels in one run, which guarantees the same tone; as soon as the paint is mixed twice, two wheels never come out exactly alike. Apply the masks one after another as well and only then move on to the vehicle color. The holder with the skewers also solves the drying: no wheel lies flat on a surface and none sticks to it. Handle the spare wheel, if the model has one, in the same series so that it does not stand out in shade.
Rubber, drying through, mask, vehicle color in two passes, lifting the mask at the setting stage. Fit the wheels on the model last.
This is a masking set. Paints, the kit and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
