An injection-molded plastic kit of the German mobile armored machine gun nest MG-Panzernest in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer RPM. It is neither a vehicle nor a figure but a small object – a mobile pillbox that can be worked into dioramas and defensive scenes. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The MG-Panzernest, nicknamed Krab, was a German mobile steel machine gun pillbox of the Second World War period. The body was cast as a massive steel block with vision ports and an opening for the crew. Inside, a crew of two men and an MG-34 or MG-42 machine gun were housed. The armor protected against the weather and against fire from smaller calibers. The nest was carried to the spot and sunk into the ground as a defensive point put up at short notice.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and fill the seams carefully so that the impression of a cast steel block comes through. Spray over a primer and use an airbrush. The object rewards weathering – washes in the vision ports and the corners, pigments for mud and dust effects at its foot and chipped metal on the edges will bring out its field service. It looks best set into a diorama.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
