This item is an aftermarket set of photo-etched metal from Voyager Model, not a kit of the vehicle. It is cut for the Panda PH35014 plastic kit. On modern subjects photo-etched parts are especially useful: present-day vehicles carry a quantity of thin sheet, gratings, covers, brackets and mesh whose plastic version is always thicker than the scale would call for.
The Husky is a wheeled vehicle meant for detecting mines and booby-trap systems. The design proceeds from the principle that the vehicle should survive a blast in a condition that allows it to be repaired and put back into service; the shaping of the lower hull and the layout of the whole thing follow from that. The panels of the detection equipment are carried in front of the vehicle and along its sides and form its most prominent recognition feature. The VMMD designation refers to the role of the vehicle as a carrier for a mine detector.
On modern subjects it is the painting above all that shows. Photo-etched parts have a texture that is easy to flood: apply thin coats, ideally with an airbrush, and let them dry between coats. It pays to blacken perforated gratings and mesh from inside beforehand, so that the openings look deep. Degrease the metal parts before painting and use a primer for metal. Dispense the cyanoacrylate in minute drops, otherwise the excess soaks under a part and creates a shiny spot when it is painted. Bend longer straight parts against a ruler along the whole length.
The package holds photo-etched metal parts only. The plastic kit, the glue and the paints are not part of it.
