E.T. Model 1:35 Modern USMC M1A1 MBT is a photo-etched detail set for the plastic kit of the M1A1 main battle tank as equipped by the US Marine Corps. It is a metal accessory, not a model of the tank.

A set of photo-etched parts in 1:35 scale intended for refining the plastic kit of the M1A1 tank in US Marine Corps configuration. The metal parts replace the grilles, the thin plates, the covers, the brackets and the loops for securing equipment. On modern tanks it is exactly the fineness of these small items that shows most, because the large surfaces of the hull are otherwise smooth. The set is not a kit and the base model is not included in the package.
The M1A1 is the version of the Abrams with a 120 mm smoothbore gun, powered by a gas turbine. Marine Corps vehicles differ from the Army ones in the details of their equipment, in the stowage of the personal gear of the crew and in their preparation for landing operations, including the ability to wade through deeper water once the relevant kit is fitted. Marine Corps tanks were committed to operations in the Persian Gulf and in Iraq, usually in a desert scheme and with a large amount of load on the hull and the turret, which is a rewarding subject for modelers.
Sort the parts into groups by their place on the model first, otherwise you will get lost among the small repeating loops. Separate them with photo-etch scissors and sand the tags down. Make the folds in a bender. They are glued with the smallest possible amount of cyanoacrylate. Degrease the metal before painting and spray it with a primer. Bring out the desert shade with a dark wash in the gaps and a layer of fine dust pigment working from the bottom of the hull upwards.
The package holds photo-etched parts, not a kit of the tank. The base model, glue and paints are not part of the delivery.
