A decal sheet with prints of military soles in the muddy variant, not a kit. It adds realistic marks of mud-caked boots to a vehicle model, to the floor of a diorama or to the surface of a track, with the detail of the hobnails and the tread of the sole. The sheet holds prints of the American as well as the German pattern, so it covers Allied and German scenes of the Second World War alike. The muddy version is intended for wet, churned-up surroundings and for winter scenes of the northern hemisphere: rutted field tracks, melting snow, waterlogged ground. The prints are on a thin carrier film which disappears once it is varnished over. The maker is the German brand USCHI van der Rosten.

Use

• Suitable for flat and slightly contoured surfaces: fenders, engine covers, cargo beds, diorama floors.
• Apply the print wet and bed it in with a decal softener, so that the film takes to the texture of the surface.
• Lay the marks out in the direction of movement, so that the movement across the ground reads clearly.
• Take a matte varnish over it, so that the film disappears and the print merges with the surface.
• The muddy impression is strengthened by a layer of weathering mud or a dark pigment around the edges of the marks.
