The StuG III was a German assault gun built on the chassis of the Panzer III tank. Instead of a rotating turret it had a low armored superstructure with the gun mounted directly in the front of the hull, so the machine was aimed by turning the whole vehicle. It was precisely that low silhouette that made it one of the most widespread German tracked machines of the war. Smoke candle dischargers belonged to it as external equipment: short tubes in clusters from which smoke candles were fired to screen a withdrawal or a move.
A replacement for these dischargers in a form that the plastic part from a kit cannot reach with its dimensions. It is a small feature, but one on which coarseness shows clearly, because it stands out in the silhouette of the vehicle. The exact make-up of the set and the number of parts are given by the manufacturer in the supplied description, and the placing on a particular standard is in the instructions for the kit.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that the thin tubes are not damaged. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts and use a primer coat. The suitable glue and the procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions, because they follow from the material of the parts. It is better to glue the dischargers on after the surrounding area has been sprayed, otherwise paint reaches under them with difficulty.
The set is an accessory for a kit. Paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
