The set captures an ordinary office chair in 1:35 scale, that is, the kind of furniture that in a modern scene gives away at once that this is a workplace: a command post, an office, a control room, a store or the back room of a workshop. Match the glue to the material of the parts, which is stated on the box.
Furniture is one of the strongest carriers of scale in a diorama. The viewer may not know the dimensions of a vehicle, but a chair is subconsciously linked with the height of a person, so a seated or standing figure beside it immediately looks convincing. That is exactly why it pays to place the chair so that it forms a pair with a figure: pushed back from the desk, turned toward whoever is coming in, or tipped over if the scene captures a hurried departure. Never set a chair on casters exactly parallel to the desk; a slight turn looks more natural. Also check that all the casters or legs reach the floor, otherwise a slight tilt will needlessly draw attention to the fact that this is a separately glued part.
First clean and degrease the parts and lay down a primer suitable for the material in question. The seat and the backrest look best in a flat shade, while the column, the base and the casters will take a darker semi-flat or slightly metallic tone. Emphasize the difference between the fabric upholstery and the plastic frame with a dark wash in the gaps and a light lifting of the edges with a dry brush. In a grubby interior, add a little dust pigment to the lower part.
This is an accessory for dioramas, not a model in its own right. Paints, glue, figures and the base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
