Notice surfaces are what makes the background of a street scene look inhabited. A bare wall behind figures has nothing for the eye to rest on, whereas a wall with posters sets a scene in a time and a place at once. A poster painted by hand, meanwhile, almost always gives away the brush stroke at this scale, because the lettering and the artwork have to stay legible on an area the size of a fingernail.
Posters on an Olympic theme for dioramas and vignettes in 1:35 scale. You will find the number of motifs, the dimensions, the form and the year and the country they relate to on the packaging and in the manufacturer's instructions. The 1:35 scale goes with the most widespread size of figures, so the accessory combines easily with other elements of the same size.
Place the posters where they really would hang: on a fence, on a post, beside an entrance or on a notice board, never in the middle of an open wall. Cut them out with a sharp blade along a rule; the undercoat has to be flat and degreased. The way scenic accessories are fixed differs according to the form, so follow the manufacturer's instructions and do not soak the elements until you have checked that they are meant for that. Believability benefits from several posters hanging side by side at slightly differing heights, with one of them having a torn-off corner or a faded shade.
The set suits builders of urban dioramas and vignettes in 1:35 scale who want a background with a period feel without painting fine lettering.
A base, buildings, figures, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
