Opel Blitz 3.6-47 Omnibus W39 Ludewig 1:35 (Roden) — an injection-molded plastic kit of the German army bus on the chassis of the Opel Blitz truck.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Roden captures the German army bus Opel Blitz 3.6-47 of the W39 type with a Ludewig body. The model stands on the chassis of the well-known three-ton Opel Blitz and offers a detailed engine, photo-etched parts and decals for several color versions. It is an attractive and less usual subject that will enliven any collection of German rear-area vehicles.
The Opel Blitz bus with a body from the Ludewig company of Essen was built on the proven chassis of the three-ton truck. It was produced from the end of the 1930s and was used on every front. It served as transport for officers, as an ambulance, a staff car and even a mobile telephone exchange or radio station. It was precisely the versatility and the reliability of the basic chassis that made it a widespread and useful rear-area asset.
The large glazed areas of the body call for careful gluing and masking of the windows; fit the glazing only after spraying and varnishing. First finish the chassis and the engine, and only then close the body up. Spray the base with an airbrush and, for a desert version, choose the matching shade. For weathering use a fine wash and earth pigments on the wheels and the underside. A gloss coat compatible with the paint used makes it easier to apply the decals.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
