An injection-molded plastic kit of the German self-propelled anti-tank gun built on a captured French chassis, in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The model captures the 4.7 cm anti-tank gun mounted on the chassis of the French Renault R35 light tank, designated Pz.Kpfw.35 R 731(f) in German service. The kit is usually complemented by photo-etched parts and it offers markings for two forms. Check the exact contents of the box against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
After the defeat of France in 1940 Germany acquired a large amount of French equipment, which it went on to use. The Renault R35 light tank served as a chassis for improvised self-propelled guns: a box-shaped superstructure with a 4.7 cm anti-tank gun of Czechoslovak origin (Pak(t)) was mounted on the hull with the turret removed. These captured vehicles were used with second-line and rear-area units at the beginning of the war in the east.
Assemble and paint the running gear and the interior of the fighting compartment before you close the superstructure. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and attach the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. The vehicle can be presented in the early German gray shade; once sprayed, bring out the details with a wash and add dust and mud effects with pigments on the tracks, the wheels and the underside of the hull.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
