The 1:35 Pz.Kpfw. I Ausf. C (VK 601) wheel masking set is a sheet of pre-cut templates for separating the rubber tires from the disks of the road wheels. The set is cut for the kit from the manufacturer Hobby Boss.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for painting, not a kit. The sheet holds pre-cut templates, which during spraying separate the rubber tires of the road wheels from the disks on which they are mounted. The set is cut for the model of the Pz.Kpfw. I Ausf. C from the manufacturer Hobby Boss.
The Pz.Kpfw. I Ausf. C, carried in development under the designation VK 601, was a German light tracked vehicle from the start of the 1940s. It differed from the older versions of the Pz.Kpfw. I above all in the running gear: it had large interleaved road wheels with torsion bar suspension and used no return rollers. For modelers a practical consequence follows from that: the wheels are prominent and lie practically wholly in view, so every imprecise boundary of the rubber is noticed on them at once.
Spraying over a mask is done differently from spraying onto a free area. Lower pressure, roughly in the band of one to one and a half bar, proves itself, and paint on the thinner side applied in two or three thin layers rather than in one heavy one. Hold the nozzle at a right angle to the face of the wheel and about fifteen centimeters away. When you spray at an angle or too close up, the stream of paint gets under the margin of the mask and the boundary smears. Make the first layer only as a light hint, therefore, which seals the margin of the mask, and add coverage only with the next layer.
The package holds only the masking templates. The kit, paints and thinners are not included in it. Before purchase verify that you are building exactly the kit mentioned.
