A kit of the French Renault AMR 35 light tracked reconnaissance vehicle in the ZT1b variant, in 1:100. In this scale Zebranomodel has long been building an extensive line of interwar and 1940 French equipment, in which the individual variants of the same chassis stand side by side. The 1:100 scale is popular for collectors' displays and for tabletop games with models, because it allows a numerous force to be built in a small space. The AMR 35 was a French light tracked reconnaissance vehicle introduced in the second half of the 1930s. It was a small, lightly armored and fast machine intended for cavalry and reconnaissance units rather than for direct combat against armored vehicles. Several variants were built on the common chassis, differing above all in turret, superstructure and armament; what tells them apart is the designation in the name of the vehicle. Vehicles of this type were used in the fighting of 1940.
In 1:100 everything is a question of careful cleaning up and fit. Work with a sharp scalpel, a fine file and glue applied in a minimal amount, so that the small engraved details are not wiped away. Paint the running gear and the underside before you close the assembly up. Spray a thin primer as the base and thin the paint more than you would in large scales. French multi-tone camouflage is best done in this scale with an airbrush at very low pressure, or with a brush with a good point. Keep the weathering restrained: one thin wash into the recesses and light edge highlighting is usually enough.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
