This is a complete detail set from the Polish manufacturer Aber, not a model of a tank. The package combines fine photo-etched frets with turned metal parts and wire sections and is aimed at a model of the German heavy tank Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf.E (Sd.Kfz.181) Tiger I in the form in which the heavy tank battalion s.Pz.Abt. 501 used it in Tunisia. With the metal you replace the grilles, the fenders, the tool brackets and the small fittings typical of early production vehicles.
The Tiger I was a German heavy tank of the Second World War with an 88 mm gun. Vehicles of the early production series deployed in North Africa are recognized by the air filters at the rear of the hull, the rubber-tired road wheels and other details that later production dropped. The deployment in the Tunisian campaign at the turn of 1942 and 1943 is among the first combat appearances of the type and is a popular modeling subject, not least for its different desert coloring.
Trim the photo-etched parts off the fret with a sharp knife, bend them on a photo-etch bending tool or along a ruler and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Degrease the metal and go over it with a primer. A desert scheme is well complemented with fine dust weathering and with fading of the upper surfaces.
An accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
