A detail set from T-Rex Studio in 1:35 scale replacing the drive sprockets of the PzKpfw II light tank in the second of the two standards the manufacturer makes. The manufacturer offers both variant A and variant B and prepares each of them for different plastic kits. This item is cut for the Dragon kit, so the mounting and the diameter of the hub match its running gear. It is not a kit of the tank but an accessory for a part-built model.
The drive sprocket is among the best visible parts of a tank model and at the same time among those where injected plastic is most tied to the mold. A resin casting can have sharp teeth, see-through openings in the disk and a fine surface texture. Standards A and B differ on this category of vehicle according to the production series of the subject; before you buy the set, compare the shape of the sprocket against the documentation for the particular machine you are building.
Wash the parts in warm water with detergent, cut the casting block off with a saw and sand the remainder wet with respiratory protection. Dry-fit the sprockets together with the tracks, because on the running gear a small deviation is recognized at once in their tension. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue, as plastic cement does not work here. You will manage the painting best on separate parts: the base, a dark wash between the teeth, a sparing metallic wear where the track seats and the closing dust pigments, which connect the sprockets with the rest of the chassis.
The set is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Before buying, check that this is the standard matching both your subject and your kit.
