The kit of the 72V6E4, the combat vehicle of the 96K6 Pantsir-S1 system, brings one of the most characteristic silhouettes of modern air defense in 1:35 scale. This injection-molded plastic kit from the manufacturer Trumpeter combines a large truck chassis with a richly detailed weapon superstructure full of antennas, radars and missile containers.
The 96K6 Pantsir-S1 is a Russian self-propelled short- to medium-range anti-aircraft system intended to defend installations and units against aircraft, helicopters and precision munitions. It combines guided surface-to-air missiles in transport and launch containers with a pair of 30 mm twin-barrel automatic cannons; radar and electro-optical systems on a rotating turret serve to search for and track targets. The 72V6E4 combat vehicle is the form of the system on an eight-wheeled KamAZ truck chassis.
The model is busy, so proceed by subassemblies (chassis, cab, turret) and glue the fine antennas and sensors on at the end, lowering the risk of breaking them off. In color terms the real vehicle matches both single-color green and multi-color camouflage schemes; a wash will deepen the panel lines, and dust pigments will set the chassis and the wheels in place.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
