An injection-molded plastic kit of the German armored half-track Sd.Kfz.251/17 in its Ausf. C version, in 1:35 scale from AFV Club. The model captures the characteristic faceted hull of the early version and the superstructure with a cannon of 20 mm caliber. Photo-etched parts and flexible tracks tend to be included. It is assembled and painted by the builder.
The Sd.Kfz.251 was the basic German armored half-track of the Second World War. The 251/17 version carried a cannon of 20 mm caliber on a mount that allowed fire against ground as well as air targets, and it was also used as a platoon command vehicle. The Ausf. C form represents the earlier production shape, with faceted armor plates at the nose.
Finish the running gear and the interior of the hull before closing it. We recommend thin cement for plastic, and cyanoacrylate glue for the photo-etched parts. Spray over a base coat (primer) with an airbrush, and fine-tune the weathering of the recesses and the dust effects with washes and pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
