Soviet mountain infantry in 1:35 scale — a set of plastic figures from Zvezda intended to complete models of equipment and dioramas.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of a vehicle but an accessory that brings a display case to life or gives scale to a diorama with equipment. The number of figures, their poses and the gear enclosed are stated on the box of the set.
In the Second World War, mountain units were trained and equipped for moving and fighting in broken, high-lying terrain. They differed from ordinary infantry mainly in their gear: tougher footwear, adapted packs and climbing equipment for moving in rocky surroundings. The uniform items and the personal weapons matched the standards of the day in the army concerned.
First free the figures of flash and sand the parting lines carefully — in 1:35 scale even a thin line across a face is visible. Apply a thin base coat, ideally with an airbrush, so that the detail is not clogged. Build the uniform up from the base tone through a darker glaze in the folds to highlights on the raised areas. Paint the skin separately and work from the lightest tone toward picking out the shadows. Toward the end, a fine dry brush on the gear and the slightest pigment on the footwear help the figure fit into the setting of a base or a diorama.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
