Spare steel road wheels for the M113 family, 4 pieces is an add-on set in 1:35 scale from ELEFANT. It is not a model of the vehicle but small parts for a base kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains four separate road wheels with a steel disc for M113 series armored personnel carriers. The number of pieces is given in the name of the set itself. You can use the wheels in two ways: as spare items stowed on the vehicle, which is a rewarding detail that livens up any model, or as a replacement for damaged or insufficiently detailed parts from the kit.
The M113 is an American tracked armored personnel carrier introduced at the end of the 1950s. Its light welded construction, roomy interior and easy maintenance made it one of the most widespread vehicles of its kind and the basis for a long line of derivatives. Crews routinely carried spare material and components on their vehicles; spare wheels on the hull or on the fenders are among the typical features that give a model authenticity.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and rid them of mold release residue, otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife and level the surface; protect your airways when sanding. Glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and apply a primer coat before painting. Spare wheels on a vehicle look best when they are not new: use a dark wash in the disc, rub the edges of the tread with a dry brush and add pigments according to the setting. Plan the mounting of the wheels on the hull in advance, so that the straps or the frame of the holder fit as well.
The set is an accessory for a base kit and is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
