According to the name of the product the package contains two wheels with a mud shield, of the kind carried by the vehicles of the M26, M46, M47 and M48A1 first series. It is not a tank kit but separate wheels for improving or completing a model.
A pair of wheels serves in two ways. Either you use them to replace the most visible wheels from the kit where you want crisper detail on the hub and the rubber tire, or you use them as spare wheels stowed on the hull, as crews commonly carried them. The second option is rewarding for a diorama, because it adds an element to the vehicle that a kit usually does not contain.
Separate the wheels from the casting block with a fine-toothed saw and run the cut clear of the outline of the hub. Level the mating surface on abrasive paper laid on a flat board. Wash the castings in warm water with detergent before gluing, so that no mold release agent is left on them. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. When painting, separate the hub from the rubber tire: the hub takes the shade of the vehicle, the tire a dark gray to grayish black, never pure black. The mud shield is the place where mud really does collect, so working in pigments and muddy effects suggests itself. If you use the wheels as stowed spares, treat the weathering on them a little differently from the running gear, because they do not turn.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
