The set contains two storage racks in 1:35 scale intended for detailing an M113 armored personnel carrier in Israeli service. It is not a vehicle kit - it is a detail accessory that replaces or supplements the simplified plastic parts of the basic model. The type designation in the name distinguishes the shape of the rack; the manufacturer offers several different types, because the real racks differed from vehicle to vehicle.
The M113 is an American tracked armored personnel carrier with a welded aluminum hull, which with Israeli units received a whole range of local modifications. Among the most conspicuous are precisely the add-on storage racks on the sides and at the rear of the hull: the crew carried equipment, camouflage nets, jerrycans and personal kit in them. The racks are made up of thin sections and mesh, so they are hard to reproduce in plastic at a realistic thickness.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, not with pliers - an irregular edge is then hard to straighten. Make the bends on a bending tool or between two razor blades, always along the etched grooves and in one movement; bending back and forth repeatedly weakens the material. Join the assembly with a cyanoacrylate glue with an extended setting time, so that you have time to true up the right angles, or alternatively spot-solder it. Degrease the rack before painting and apply a thin coat of a primer intended for metal, otherwise paint does not hold on the smooth surface. Once the base color is dry it is worth darkening the floor of the rack with a wash and lightly bringing out the edges with a dry brush, so that the mesh comes through.
The set is an accessory for a model, not a kit in its own right. It is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the basic kit are not included in the package.
