1:35/Uniscale Picture Frames + b/w Mountain Photos

Frames with black and white mountain photographs, MAiM, 1:35/Uniscale

This set of picture frames with black and white photographs of mountain scenery from the manufacturer MAiM will give the interior of your diorama a nostalgic, period flavor. A black and white photograph on a wall immediately evokes an older era or a setting with tradition, such as mountain lodges, offices and waiting rooms. The set is listed in the universal 1:35/Uniscale and will serve in scenes in neighboring scales as well, for instance 1:32.

Use in a diorama

Mountain motifs in black and white are the natural choice for alpine and foothill subjects: inns, guesthouses, mountain stations or a headquarters in a high mountain setting. They work just as well as a discreet retro element in an urban apartment or a government office. Compared with the colored landscape paintings of the same range they read more soberly and more coolly, so they suit places where you want a plain, austere atmosphere.

Tips for working it

Paint the frames in dark wood or black with a fine dry brush on the edges, and let the black and white motif stand out without bold intervention. A group of frames of unequal size one above another creates the effect of a family gallery. In abandoned interiors a dusting of pigments and a slight tilt of the pictures off true will help.
