Quickwheel 1:35 masking set for the tires of the quarter-ton utility truck and its trailer is cut for the Takom kit. It separates the tire from the rim when spraying.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for painting from Quickwheel, not a kit. The masks are stuck onto the finished wheels from the box and separate the tire from the rim, so you can spray both with an airbrush without drawing the line by hand. The name ties the set to the Takom kit, which holds the vehicle as well as the quarter-ton trailer.
This is not a tank and masking behaves quite differently here. The vehicle stands on four separate wheels with a pronounced off-road tread and a simple pressed rim, plus a spare wheel at the rear and two trailer wheels. The wheels are small, so the boundary between the rubber and the rim is very narrow and a hand-drawn line holds badly on such a short arc. At the same time, on a wheeled vehicle the wheels are completely exposed: no side covers, no fenders along the whole length, and the running gear forms a significant part of the silhouette. The spare wheel also hangs at the viewer's eye level and cannot be skimped on.
Clean the wheels up, degrease them and spray the base shade. Lay the mask on a perfectly dry coat and press it down all the way round; with small diameters that is the most important step. Spray at right angles, thinly and preferably in two passes. The tread comes out well if you run a dry brush lightly over it in a lighter shade once the mask is off, and add mud or dust with pigments last.
This is a masking accessory. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
