A resin kit for experienced modelers in 1:35 scale from LZ models. It represents an American-built towed ripper and additionally contains photo-etched parts and wire. It is a demanding set in which you work with resin only, not with ordinary injection-molded plastic.
The LeTourneau Rooter model S was a heavy towed engineer ripper which, pulled by a tractor or a bulldozer, dug into the ground and broke up hard soil, rock and old road surfaces. Machines of this kind were used by the engineer units of the US Army to build and repair roads, and they make a rewarding companion to models of bulldozers and tractors.
First wash the parts to remove any mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before painting, as it holds on resin better than paint alone. An earth-toned camouflage suits it, finished with a strong patina, mud effects and pigments on the working parts.
Supplied as a resin kit, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
