It is not a ship kit but a set of brass parts that replace and supplement the details of the superstructure on a plastic model in the matching scale.
HMS Illustrious was a British aircraft carrier of the Royal Navy, the lead ship of the class of the same name from the period of the Second World War. She stood out for her armored flight deck. The superstructure of an aircraft carrier is intricate and full of small elements, so refining it with photo-etch shows markedly on a finished model.
Separate the parts from the fret, clean them up and bend them accurately. They are bonded with super glue. Degrease the photo-etch and spray it with primer before applying paint. Once varnished, the fine elements of the superstructure can be brought out with a dark wash.
This is a refining accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
