A detail set in turned metal containing 9 barrels of 46 cm/45 (460 mm) caliber of the Type 94 in 1:350 scale. These are the barrels of the heaviest naval gun ever deployed. It is not a ship model but accurate metal replacements that give the gun turrets faithful straight barrels with the correct muzzle.
The 46 cm/45 Type 94 gun was the main armament of the Japanese battleships of the Yamato class, that is Yamato and Musashi. Each ship carried nine of them in three triple turrets. Its diameter of 46 cm (18.1 inches) made it the largest naval gun in history.
Separate the barrels from the gate, clean them up and seat them in the cleaned-out holes of the turrets. Glue with cyanoacrylate. Treat the metal with a base coat (primer) before painting.
This is an add-on detail set, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
