A cargo container of the future for the 1:48 and 1:35 scales. It is a scenery element in its own right, not a kit of a machine and not a set of parts for a particular model. It comes into its own wherever a scene is meant to show that cargo is being carried somewhere and unloaded somewhere: by a landing pad, in a hangar, by a loading ramp, in a colony warehouse, or simply out in the open beside a vehicle.
In a scene it does several jobs at once. It fills an empty background and gives the scene scale, because from a commonly known shape the viewer immediately judges how large the figure beside it is. Placed across the scene it divides the area, creates a bottleneck and gives the figures cover, which you will appreciate most on the gaming table. Several pieces arranged side by side and on top of each other turn a bare board into a warehouse or a makeshift transfer yard.
Before painting, wash the surface in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let it dry out completely so that the paint holds. Apply both the undercoat and the top shade in thin coats, as a heavy coat would flood the fine surface. With a container it pays to take the wear a long way: bring out the scuffed edges with a dry brush and add rust runs, damp patches, faded lettering and numbers. An angular shape tells no story on its own; only the traces of handling turn it into a piece with a past.
Figures, models, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
