AGM-88 HARM 1:48 (2 pieces) is a resin accessory from Brengun — a pair of anti-radiation guided missiles to be hung under a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds two AGM-88 HARM anti-radiation guided missiles in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of an aircraft but an accessory to be hung underneath. The number of pieces is stated directly in the name, so one package is enough for a typical symmetrical pair of stores. The manufacturer of the accessory is Brengun.
The AGM-88 HARM is an anti-radiation missile designed to suppress ground radar systems. In design it is a slender body with fins in two planes; typical is exactly its length and its fairly small diameter, which on a model shows in the missile projecting well forward of the carrier. On a model it is a recognition feature of a particular role of the aircraft, so fitting it changes the overall reading of the build.
Wash the castings in warm water with detergent, so that the primer holds on them. Cut the casting block off with a saw and true the mating surface on abrasive paper on glass — with a long slender missile even a small deviation shows as visible misalignment. It glues with super glue, ideally with a pre-drilled wire pin that holds the long part steady. Fit the fins to a template, so that both are oriented alike. Spray the base light and deal with bands and markings with masking tape once it has dried.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
