1:48 Ammo Belt Flexible Cal.30 is a flexible 7.62 mm ammunition belt from GasPatch models, 300 mm long, for models in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory, not a kit. It is a continuous flexible belt of light machine gun ammunition supplied 300 mm long and cut to length as needed. Compared with the rigid castings from a kit it has one decisive advantage: it can be bent, coiled and left hanging freely, so it looks natural on the model.
The Cal.30 caliber, that is roughly 7.62 mm, matches the light aircraft machine guns that during the Second World War were mounted in wings, in rear flexible positions and in waist gun positions. The belt from such a weapon runs from the box to the gun and is clearly visible in open positions. That is exactly where the accessory works best: in open gun positions, in open wing panels and in diorama scenes with ammunition being loaded.
In 1:48 scale the belt is already quite small, so work with a new blade and tweezers and cut precisely between the rounds. Measure the length dry, cut the piece off and only then bend it. Lay the paint down in thin coats so that it does not crack while you shape it: a primer, a brass shade on the cases and a darker metal on the bullets. A dark wash brings out the gaps between the rounds and gives the belt depth, while a light pass with a dry brush pulls out the edges. Fix the end of the belt with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue; the free end can be coiled slightly so that it looks as if it is pouring out of the box.
The package contains only the ammunition belt. The weapon, the model, the paints and the glue are not part of it. The part is small and does not belong in the hands of young children.
