A set of painting masks in 1:48 scale intended for the Bf 109 T kit from AA Models. It speeds up painting the cockpit framing and other small areas.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 T came about as the carrier variant of the most widespread German fighter of the Second World War. It was given a longer wing so that it could manage a short run and a deck landing, and the equipment that went with that. The aircraft carrier the machines were being prepared for never entered service, however, so the finished examples flew from land. The carrier version stayed a marginal variant and markedly fewer kits and accessories are released for it than for the usual land-based forms.
Painting masks cover the areas that are to stay free of paint during spraying. They save the most work on the cockpit glazing, where there are many frames and lining by hand with a brush shows at first glance. The templates are cut for the parts of the Bf 109 T kit from AA Models, so they may not fit another model. Which pieces go where is shown in the enclosed instructions. It pays to go through them before building, because part of the masking is done before the cockpit is closed up.
The order of work is fixed: the mask first, then the paint.
The set is an accessory to a kit. The model, the paints, the glue and the thinner are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
