An OWL decal sheet in 1:48 scale for the Messerschmitt Bf 110 in the F and G versions, with the markings of the machine of Josef Kociok from the unit 10.(N)/ZG 1.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet in 1:48 scale from the brand OWL, intended for plastic models of the twin-engine Messerschmitt Bf 110 in the F and G versions. The markings correspond to the machine associated with Josef Kociok from the night squadron 10.(N)/ZG 1. The sheet is an accessory to a kit, not the model itself, and it replaces the decals enclosed with the box.
The Bf 110 was a German twin-engine two-seat aircraft of the so-called heavy fighter category. It turned out that against single-engine fighters it was at a disadvantage by day, and the type therefore found its use above all in other roles, among them as a night fighter. The F version brought more powerful engines and a strengthened structure, and the G version derived from it and became the most numerous series of the type. The designation 10.(N)/ZG 1 belongs to a night squadron within a larger formation; the letter N in brackets expresses precisely that night purpose of the squadron.
Prepare a smooth glossy finish before the decals, otherwise air will hold under the film and the edge of the character will stay visible. Soak the decal in lukewarm water for only a few seconds, slide it up to its place and let it come off the backing. The Bf 110 has a number of engraved panel lines and fairings on the fuselage as well as the nacelles, so it pays to use a softener repeatedly in small amounts and to let the film set between them. Go over dried decals with clear varnish, which will unify the surface, and only then carry on with the weathering.
This is a decal sheet, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
