A decal sheet in 1:48 scale for a model of the American four-engine Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress is an American four-engine heavy bomber of the Second World War, and version B-17G is its most numerous guise. You can recognize it by the gun turret under the nose, which added defense against head-on attacks. With this type the markings decide the final look of the model perhaps more than with other aircraft: the large squadron insignia on the tail surfaces and the nose art made every machine a different example.
This is a standalone sheet of decals in 1:48 scale, that is, an accessory for a kit, not a kit itself. Which machines and inscriptions it carries and how many variants it offers is given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer. In 1:48 scale the elements are fairly large, so they are more comfortable to work with than on small models, but every mistake in seating shows on them.
Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is a self-adhesive version; a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined beyond repair, whereas an unsoaked waterslide decal can be put back into water. With an ordinary wet sheet, cut the element out as close as possible, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it starts to slide on the paper. The surface should be glossy, otherwise a silvery veil forms under the film. Lay large insignia all at once and straight into position, because moving them after they have set tears the film. Blot the water outward from the center and give the finished markings a clear coat.
A decal sheet is supplied. The kit, paints, clear coats and decal softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
