1:48 Boeing CH-47A Chinook LooK is an Eduard resin accessory from the LooK range for a model of the twin-rotor transport helicopter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a helicopter model but an accessory for one. The LooK range replaces the instrument panel from the kit. The exact make-up of the package is stated on its packaging. It is a resin casting for the cockpit of a CH-47A model in 1:48 scale; check the extent of the work on the model before buying.
The Boeing CH-47 Chinook is a heavy transport helicopter with a tandem arrangement of two main rotors, that is, without a tail rotor for torque compensation. The CH-47A version was the first production configuration of the type. The flight deck is extensively glazed, including the lower windows under the crew's feet, so on a model it can be seen into from a greater number of angles than on an airplane. The detail of the instrument fit therefore does not stay hidden on this type.
Wash the casting in lukewarm water with dish soap; that rids it of the mold release agent, on which paint would not hold. Cut the casting block off with a fine-toothed saw and level the surface with abrasive paper; protect your airways while sanding resin. Use super glue for bonding, as ordinary cement for polystyrene does not dissolve resin. Assemble the helicopter cockpit dry and fix the parts only once the seating of the canopy has been verified, as the space behind the instrument panel tends to be tight on tandem helicopters.
This is an accessory for a plastic model. The model itself, glue and paints are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
