Etched metal is thin metal sheet with an etched pattern: parts made from it are an order finer than the same thing done in injection-molded plastic, so grilles stay see-through, levers stay slender and buckles can really be bent into shape.
The Super Hornet is an American carrier-based aircraft that has formed the backbone of the carrier air wings of the US Navy since the turn of the millennium. It differs from the older Hornet not only in its greater size but also in the angular leading edges of the air intakes and a more substantial wing. The E version is single-seat; the two-seater carries the designation F. For a modeler it is a rewarding subject: the machine is photographed on decks, so there tends to be plenty of reference for it, and the open cockpit and the extending surfaces are worth refining on a model.
For a builder for whom a straight box build is no longer enough and who wants detail matching the scale. Lay the parts on your model dry first and follow the manufacturer's instructions. The work is slower than with plastic, but the result is visible on a finished model at first glance.
